A Fundraising Campaign to Create Social Sustainability

The Findhorn Foundation Commmunity is addressing the need for social sustainability through this Full Spectrum Initiative which aims to provide inter-generational living in homes that are affordable, with a minimum carbon foot print and designs that facilitate a vibrant neighbourhood. We invite you to support this campaign with donations – small and large – and by joining us through Keep in Touch - just fill in your details and you will become part of the virtual community manifesting this vision.

Our international spiritual community is facing the same challenge as many communities in the UK and worldwide. With the changing demographics there is an essential need for young people to live and engage actively in the community, to shape it for the next decades. Especially since many of those who made the Findhorn Foundation Community what it is today are reaching their elders-years.

Our Vision

The Park Housing Co-operative is dedicated to provide sheltered housing for elders and the disabled, as well as housing for young people, families and core workers in the many different areas of the community. Housing under community control will create vibrant neighbourhoods with a healthy mix of ages, financial means and work context. See also Further Information

Our aims

1)     to create community owned housing to support:

• young people and families
• first time buyers
• core workers on low wages
• elders
• care in the community for disabled and in the final stages of life

2)    to create financial/social/legal models where the benefit of community owned housing is kept within the community in perpetuity

3)    to develop models of shared equity investment in community housing that will create aspects of personal financial sustainability for people working in the community

4)    to create an inspired, cutting-edge option to societal norms; one based on cooperative, sustainable living
